The Western Washington University chapter of CWMEA is proud to regularly host guest speakers in the interest of professional development for our members. We consistently approach local educators as well as presenters at conferences such as All-State, All-Northwest, and the Midwest Clinic in Chicago to recruit them as speakers for our chapter. We are dedicated to making sure our members are as prepared as possible for their future careers in education, and one of the most effective ways to do this is to make sure that they are hearing information and wisdom firsthand from those currently in the field. Here are some of our professional development opportunities from the previous year:

On top of hosting guest speakers on campus at Western Washington University, Western CWMEA promotes professional development by sending members to conferences. Conferences provide opportunities to hear quality ensembles and music programs, attend lectures and interest sessions of various kinds, and network with colleagues and future employers. Here is a list of several opportunities offered to students.

WMEA State Conference- February 13-16, 2014. Attendance: 53 Western CWMEA member Landon Wynne was elected State President of CWMEA at the CWMEA banquet.

 

WMEA State Conference- February __-__, 2018. Attendance: 50 something, CWMEA member Pearl Petaia was elected State President of CWMEA at the CWMEA banquet.
